Huge excitement at our house this afternoon, Princess discovered a Koala in a gum tree!!! only 25 metres (82 feet) from the house.
Investigating extremely loud grunting noises, she was rewarded with the rare sighting of one of our Australian mammals. Koalas are '
vulnerable' in NSW, I certainly haven't sighted one since a child over 30 years ago. Memorable moment!!
Wow! I will have to show this to the kids. Not long ago, we watched a documentary on how koalas are adapting (or not adapting) to habitat loss. Everybody was very interested.

ReplyDeleteIsn't it lovely to glimpse them in the wild? It's been a long time since I have as well, but have had the experience a number of times. Fabulous!
